In the world of motorcycle overland travel in Africa, the Cape Town to Victoria Falls route, is on most riders' bucket lists.

Although this tour has a high percentage of asphalt, the landscapes are diverse. One can expect some long transit days of only asphalt, with no gravel options in some regions.

Arrival in Cape Town is on the 1st of May. After the official bike hand over on the 2nd May we depart on 3rd May for a day ride around the Cape Town Peninsula. This day ride to the Cape of Good Hope is an important warm-up to get a feel for travelling as a group. Any last minute bike adjustments can be done whilst we are still in Cape Town, before we head North across 3 borders into 4 countries

We journey north into the Cederberg Mountains for the start of he gravel road adventure and cross the Northern Cape to Okiep on the N7 highway.

Our adventure continues into Southern Namibia, taking scenic gravel roads through the Aussenkeur Winelands to Fish River Canyon and Keetmanshoop. From there, we travel along paved roads to Lüderitz and visit the diamond mining town of Kolmanskoppe, then stay overnight in Lüderitz on Namibia's West Coast.

We head north to Helmeringhausen and Windhoek, before taking the long asphalt road east towards Ghanzi and Maun in Botswana. We spend 2 nights in Maun with a full-day excursion on Mokoro canoes in the Okavango Delta.

After a rest in the Delta, we visit the unforgettable Elephant Sands Camp for a night of luxury safari tent camping and an extraordinary close-up elephant experience. The luxury tents are positioned around an elephant waterhole.

Finally, the last day we travel to the Zimbabwe border town of Kasane, for our final lunch, then shuttle across the border into Zimbabwe. We do not take the bikes the final 75km into Zimbabwe for logistical reasons.

We enjoy two days in Victoria Falls, allowing ample time to explore the town and falls. A helicopter flight over Victoria Falls is well worth the price of approximately $150 USD

Airport shuttles will be available to Victoria Falls Airport on the final day, or the following day.
